Peter Chow is an international arbitrator and arbitration advocate. He has substantial experience with high-stakes, complex international disputes globally, including those related to energy & natural resources, oil & gas, construction and technology projects, shareholders, and other commercial disputes.
Prior to practising as an independent arbitrator, Peter was a partner at King & Spalding (Singapore). He has held various leadership roles as a partner at three US international law firms, and has practised in Singapore, Australia, and Hong Kong.
Peter has been involved in arbitrations in Asia for over 30 years and has represented clients in some of the largest arbitrations in Asia, including five cases involving multi-billion US dollar claims.
Peter is a Chartered Arbitrator and on the panels of arbitrators of the major arbitration institutions.
Peter has been recognized as a “Global Leader” in Arbitration by Who’s Who Legal, as a world-leading arbitration practitioner by Euromoney Guide, and by Chambers and Legal 500. He was shortlisted for “Arbitration Practitioner of the Year” (Asialaw Asia Pacific DR Awards).
Legal directories have described Peter as being "brilliant," "a very sharp lawyer," "very well prepared," "an outstanding" and "commercially-minded arbitrator."
Peter was chair of the IPBA energy committee, is a vice chair of the construction committee, a member to the ICC Commission on Arbitration & ADR and was a member of the ICC Arbitrator Nomination Commission.
