Captain Ian Park is a serving Officer and head of Legal Affairs in the British Royal Navy. He has served in seven ships with deployment all over the world. He has also been deployed as a legal adviser on operations to Afghanistan and, on many occasions, to the Middle East. Captain Park's unique insight into law and military can be witnessed from his expertise in the complex arena of cyber-crime and artificial intelligence. He is a visiting fellow at Harvard Law School, Hudson Fellow at Oxford University, a First Sea Lord’s Fellow, and a Freeman of the City of London. A graduate of St. John’s College, Cambridge, Ph.d. from Balliol College, Oxford, he gives lectures from Germany to China at universities and academies of military sciences.
Barrister Captain Park will discuss the maritime role in foreign investment, blue economy, cyber-crime and Artificial Intelligence in the broader context of dispute resolution in the South-Asia axis.
